To preserve steel items and extend their life, Officine Pollastri offers its customers a galvanising service for steel objects.
Galvanising is the process of applying a coating of zinc on a steel product to protect against corrosion. The process involves subjecting the metal parts to cathode polarity in an electrolyte cell containing a solution of zinc minerals. The electrolyte coating (5-12 microns, max 30) is extremely even; this uniform thickness has a very important advantage for delicate precision components, as any tolerances are maintained without the need for further mechanical processing.
